Meet Our Founder
Thomas Scott is the Founder and Executive Director of Be Elevated, a community-based organization dedicated to empowering individuals through education, leadership development, mentoring, and community engagement.
With nearly 30 years of professional experience in public education, human resources, organizational leadership, and nonprofit administration, Thomas has devoted his career to creating opportunities that help individuals, families, and organizations thrive. His work has included developing recruitment strategies, building educational partnerships, mentoring students and young professionals, and leading initiatives that strengthen communities.
Thomas currently serves as Recruitment Coordinator for the West Contra Costa Unified School District, where he leads districtwide recruitment efforts and develops innovative strategies to attract and retain exceptional educators and staff. Beyond his professional career, he serves as Trustee and Church Operations Administrator for the Church of the Good Shepherd and continues to provide leadership to faith-based and community organizations throughout the Bay Area.
Be Elevated was founded on Thomas's lifelong passion for service, a commitment first inspired by his mother's dedication to serving others and later strengthened through the mentorship of the late Ms. Jacqueline Rushing, whose vision for expanding college opportunities transformed countless lives. Her enduring belief that "The dream of a college education come true" continues to inspire the organization's commitment to helping others achieve their goals.
Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Los Angeles Pacific University. He believes that education, servant leadership, and meaningful relationships are powerful tools for creating lasting change in individuals and communities.
Today, through Be Elevated, Thomas continues to build partnerships that empower people, strengthen organizations, and transform communities, one life at a time.
